Part 1 Link Verb: To Be

Verb to be is of significant important in English, which almost takes up one-third of verb in speaking and writing. The same is true with 是 in Chinese. The following structure is one of the common forms for most languages. 

S(Subject )+ Be +N(Noun/Pronoun)/Adjective/Place/Time.

Chapter 1 S (Subject) + Verb to be + N (Noun)/Pronoun

Chapter 2 S + Verb to be + Adjective

Chapter 3 S + Verb to be +  Place

Chapter 4 S +  Verb to be + Time.
