Adjectives both in English and Chinese are used to describe or give information about things, ideas and people. 

1.   Same structure: Both Chinese and English have the same sentence structure, such as "那些大虾是新鲜的。" In this sentence: Subject(N): 那些大虾 Link Verb(to be): Adjective (A):新鲜的; and in English “Those prawns(S) are (Be)stale (A).”

2.   OmitIf the adjective is not emphasized, “是”“ 的” or , or both are often omitted in Chinese, such as “那些大虾新鲜。 ”“ 这些书薄。”
